Message from the Principal
Hello Wildcat Families-
I hope your family is healthy and you're finding some joy in these strange times.
In reviewing this month's family feedback, we heard you telling us that you'd like a clearer system for finding missing work in Canvas. Our teachers have been reorganizing their pages and adding headers for days of the week to help with that. Please continue to contact them during office hours if you have any questions.
There were also questions raised about how we would "grade" assignments and participation in distance learning. Next Wednesday is a grading day (no school) and teachers will be completing an academic feedback form for each student. They will use the work submitted to give you an overview of your student's progress so far. The first formal report card is in February. We are still discussing what we need to change and what we will use as assessments. We will provide you more information as we land on answers.
As I have referenced before, we will be having a series of parent listening sessions in the next several weeks. Next week we have our Grupo de Padres Latinos meeting on Tuesday, November 17th from 5:15-6pm. On Thursday the 19th we'll host a session for Families of Black and Multi-Racial students from 5:15-6pm. These meetings will include some info about our school goals and then discussion about how we can work together to reach them. PLEASE CONTACT TAMMIE MANDUJANO at 503.431.4403 IN OUR FRONT OFFICE IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO ATTEND EITHER SESSION. She can provide you more info and a link to the Zoom meetings. There will also be PSO and Families of Students with Disabilities sessions offered in early December.
Thank you for all of your continued support and feedback. We are working through complex problems and we can sometimes only see things from our perspective. Your voice and input are very important in our work to serve your kids.
Take care and have a great weekend.

Mensaje del director
Hola familias Wildcat-
Sr. Blasquez / Sr. B, Director

Social Emotional Learning This Week
Each week our District sends out Social Emotional Learning through our teachers for our students. This section of our newsletter describes what the past week has been about and shares with you what next week will look like:
Self-management is managing your thoughts and actions to help you make positive choices, accomplish your goals, and meet expectations.
A good question to ask everyone at home would be:
How can you be more responsible for your own choices?
Here are the Family videos for this week: Self-Management, I Can Manage My Emotions!
