Auditions for One Acts

Auditions for One Acts are taking place this week in the performing arts room on Tuesday March 7 and Wednesday March 8. Sign-up sheet is in the performing arts room. This year we are looking for actors and technicians for 6 exciting shows to compete against other high schools in zones at the end of April. If you are interested and have any questions please contact Ms. Cocolicchio.

Ice Cream Floats

Join Poulin's Grad Service group for Ice Cream Floats in the gathering area during NDHS/Lunch on Thursday, March 9th!

We will be serving Rootbeer, Orange Crush, and Cream Soda floats!
All floats are $3.00!! (Tap and Cash accepted)
All proceeds will be donated to a new service dog for the RCMP!

Summer Camp at OLVC is back!

Here’s what the summer will look like:

  • Saturday, July 8 – Grand Re-opening BBQ (All welcome! Details coming soon.)
  • July 9-13 – High School Camp (Grades 10-12. Youth who attend these weeks can volunteer as junior counselors at the elementary, jr high, and all ages weeks of camp.)
  • July 16-20 – Elementary Camp (Grades 4-6)
  • July 23-27 (Tentative) – Benedict XVI Institute “Great Books” Week
  • July 30-August 3 – Junior High Camp (Grades 7-9)
  • August 6-10 – All Ages Camp (Grades 4-9)

Volunteer Opportunities

Penhold Elementary school is looking for student volunteers, specifically male and female hockey players, who would like to come skate with elementary aged students who are learning to skate and furthering their skills.

Volunteer responsibilities include: tying skates, skating with students, demonstrating skills, encouraging students and sharing your passion for skating and hockey.

RCMPTalks Panelist Discussion for Parents

First Ever RCMPTalks Panelist Discussion for Parents!

WHO: The RCMP will be hosting its first-ever virtual RCMPTalks session for parents and guardians of children and youth across Canada.

WHAT: It will feature panelist expert speakers from the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, the Canadian Centre on Substance Use and Addiction, Bullying Canada, and the Canadian Centre for Child Protection.

WHY: The goal of this session is to give parents and guardians guidance on how they can help youth with regard to mental health, substance use, cyberbullying, and sextortion.

WHEN: It will be held on March 15th from 7PM to 8:30 PM (Eastern Standard Timezone). Please check the timing for your time zone.

WHERE: The event will be held virtually on MS Teams and will conclude with a question and answer period on Sli.do.

Grow Kid Leaders

Spend the day on Wednesday, May 17 with hundreds of kids!! RDC’s Be Fit for Life Centre is once again encouraging young children to keep moving. The Annual Grow Kids event promotes health, confidence, and physical activity to Grade 5 children in Red Deer’s Public and Catholic school systems. ND student volunteers are needed to help lead and assist with activities throughout the day. Students will need to get signed permission from their teachers that they can miss classes that day. Red Deer Minor Football

Red Deer Minor Football (RDMF) is home to a NEW Central Alberta Fire (U18 Female Football) SPRING Football team/program!

Central Alberta Fire

This NEW Red Deer based team will be open to ALL Female players from Central Alberta, including all areas from Ponoka to Olds and Stettler to Rocky Mountain House. For this season, we will be playing teams from the South Division including Calgary, Airdrie and Okotoks, with regular season games IN Red Deer.

Girls aged 14 to 17, so under the age of 18 (U18) BEFORE December 31, 2023 are welcome to sign-up to play FULL CONTACT 6 vs 6 Football.

Girls aged 11-13, before December 31, 2023, are eligible to PRACTICE ONLY with the team to learn for this season.

For this season, all regular season games and practices will be in RED DEER. See below for more Game/Practice information and dates.

The season cost for each player will be $240 (plus girdle and concussion).

ALL Equipment will be provided, with the exception of a protective girdle and cleats. We do have SOME Cleats available in our donation bin if you need them. They will be out during Equipment Pickup.

REGISTRATION will be open from February 21 to March 27 for the Spring season!
