Function of the Skeletal System?
The function is to support, movement, protection, blood cell production, calcium storage and endocrine regulation
Roles of Bones, Ligaments, Muscles, Tendons and Nerves in Human Movement
Nerves - The role of nerves is that they transmit the instructions to move the body or part of the body as the brain says to.
Bones - for support and protection.
Tendons - the function of tendons is to connect muscle tissues to bones.
Muscules - the main function of muscles is movement. Muscles are the only tssue in the body that has the ability to contract and therefore move the other parts of the body.
2 Major Disorders
Bursitis - Causes pain, swelling and mild redness. Treatment includes avoiding pressure on the area, OTC medications such as ibuprofen and rest.
Leukemia - Causes bone pain, excess fatigue, easy bruising, night sweats, unexplained weight loss and bleeding gums.
