What's in a name?

They are called bowhead whales because their jaws and foreheads are curved in a bow shape. They are also called mustached whales because of them long baleen.


They eat haring sardines Plankton and crustaceans

Orcas and humans are their only predators. Humans have hunted them for their blubber.
