June 25, 2020 Update Newsletter
Martin Elementary
I hope that you have been safe and well while staying physically distant from others. I wanted to give you a few updates and reminders below.
Please make sure that your cell phone numbers are UPDATED by June 29, as you will be getting many surveys from Alief ISD as we move forward for re-entry. Here is the link to Mr. Chambers' message: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DBiIPNi7C0Y
Please go to the Alief Website for links and updated information, specifically to the Home Access Center: https://aliefhac1.aliefisd.net/HomeAccess/Account/LogOn?ReturnUrl=%2fhomeaccess%2f If you have any problems or difficulties, please contact Mrs. Deisy Arreola at: deisy.arreola@aliefisd.net or by calling 346-320-3143.
Although I am waiting for additional state and district guidelines, please note that I have been working hard to have a safe re-entry for 2020-2021. At Martin, I...
- have a modified arrival, dismissal, classroom, and transition practices,
- have purchased and installed plexiglass shields for the front office and clinic, as well as a few other areas,
- will be taking student/staff temperatures using touch-free thermometers,
- will continue to have hand sanitizer available in common areas and will continue to remind students/staff to wash their hands regularly,
- have purchased a cloth mask for all Mustangs (although you will be responsible for washing these daily to ensure cleanliness),
- will be utilizing all areas of the campus in order to spread out students to maximize social distancing, and of course,
- will continue to work with our custodians and all staff to clean and sanitize regularly with more attention to common areas.
Our Martin Mustang staff will be working hard to ensure our student safety is of top priority, and will continue to ensure quality instruction (either on campus in person or through virtual learning).
Please note that ALL staff, students, and visitors (if any will be allowed on campus) will be required to wear face masks.
We continue to miss you, hope you are well, and appreciate your understanding, flexibility, and patience, especially during these uncertain times. Please refer to the district website for most up-to-date re-entry information.
Please stay safe!
