Student-led Conferences are coming up!

Starting this Wednesday, March 11 and running through Friday, March 20, we will have Student-led Conferences, a time for meetings between students, their grown-ups and teachers. We will dismiss students at 1:00 PM each day to make time for these meetings. Please make arrangements for this change in the school schedule and contact your child's teacher to set up a conference for you and your child. Your child's second trimester report card will be mailed on March 20. Please make arrangements with your child's teacher if you'd rather receive it directly from them. Thank you!

Sycamore's 45th Annual International and Multicultural Day

One of our most favored traditions is just around the corner. Sycamore's 45th Annual International and Multicultural Day will take place on Wednesday, April 1. Starting with our opening all-school assembly at 8:30 and continuing to lunch, students will enjoy a cultural feast! Throughout the morning, students will travel to three "destinations," presentations self-selected from a list including Ethiopia, Ireland, Philippines, India, Taiwan, Palestine, Korea, Italy and more.

There are many ways to support this day. Use this link to volunteer or provide supplies for the event. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/60b0845acac2aa7fc1-international.You may also use the link to contact our I-Day coordinator, Laila Ghafarshad.

Feeling helpful? Feeling lucky?

You can support Claremont Educational Foundation (CEF) and have a chance to win a Toyota Prius! CEF provides funds for music, art and technology for students and grants for special projects throughout our District. You can support CEF and Sycamore by participating in the Prius Raffle. Tickets are sold in the school office for $20 each or 6 for $100. Thanks to the donation of Claremont Toyota, each ticket sold earns funds both for CEF and Sycamore School. And, you may purchase the winning ticket! The raffle will be held on April 26, so get your tickets now!

Talk about it!

Many of our upper grade students walk themselves to and from school each day. Still others ride scooters or bikes. We ask that family members talk to their children about safe practices for walking or riding alone. In addition to conversations about the rules for safely, please remind your children to be aware and attentive to their surroundings. Encourage them to walk with other friends and not to speak to strangers. Make sure they have a plan for check-in and help them role play what to do in an emergency. Require your child to wear a helmet.

Once your child is here at school in the morning, they should not leave campus to meet a friend, go to Starbucks, etc. Talk about the options you can support if this is an interest of your child.
