Expect Respect

As part of the month of October’s Bullying Prevention, we are handing out a special wristband to all students today during Advisory. The wristband represents the kindness of our school, students, and staff. The wristband is in our school colors and says “Expect Respect” on the outside of the wristband. Remember when we discussed/watched the video, etc. about Expect Respect? (Ex—when you see/hear disrespect, give them the stop signal, walk away, and get help if needed). This is a reminder that you could wear every day to remind everyone to be Kind and to be Upstanders when you see or hear disrespectful behavior—it says “Be An Upstander” on the inside of the band. It reminds us to interrupt disrespectful behavior before it rises to the level of bullying. This can be hard to do, especially when you might be the only one standing up for someone else, but it is so important to help each other to make our school a safe and kind place where everyone can belong. There is also a flyer for you to share with your parents/guardians. Every student and staff member in our district is receiving one so we can remember we all work together to prevent bullying and promote kindness in our school.
