Dearest Students & (parents)-
This week you will take the TCAP for Reading/Language, Math, & Science. We know how hard you have worked, but there is something very important you must know:
The TCAP test does not assess all of what makes each of you special and unique. The people who create these tests and score then do not know each of you the way we do, and certainly not the way your familes do.
They do not know that some of you speak two languages, or that you love to sing or draw. They have not seen your natural talent for dancing. They do not know that your friends count on you to be there for them, that your laughter can brighten the darkest day, or that your face turns red when you feel shy. They do not know that you participate in sports, wonder about the future, or sometimes you help with your little brother or sister after school. They do not know that you are kind, trustworthy, and thoughtful...and every day you try to be your very best.
The scores you get from this test will tell you something, but they will not tell you everything. There are many ways of being smart. YOU are smart! YOU are enough! YOU are the light that brightens our day! So while you are preparing for the test and in the midst of it all, remember that there is no way to "test" all of the amazing and awesome things that make you, YOU!!
Love, Ms. Head & Mrs. Warbritton

About Mrs. Warbritton
I am married to Jeff, who is a firefighter with the Nashville Fire Department and we have two precious daughters, Emma Kate (9) , Rylee Marie (7), and an adorable son, Carter Allen (5). I love spending time with my family and friends.
I am so excited that I will be working with you and your child this year! I will work hard this year to meet each child’s needs, no matter their ability. I will do my best to help your child to develop socially, emotionally, and academically. I firmly believe each child can reach his or her potential if he or she is willing to do their BEST! As a teacher, wife, and mother, I strive hard to put 110% in all that I do. I am looking forward to a very exciting year here at Shayne!

About Ms. Head
I want to start off by saying that I am thrilled to have your child in my classroom this year! This will be my fifth year teaching at Shayne Elementary and my third year teaching in fourth grade. We are all going to be learning from each other throughout the year. I graduated from Metro Nashville Schools and loved every school that I attended. I hope your child will be able to say the same.
My name is Ashlee Head, and I am 27 years old. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Middle Tennessee State University. I coach a competitive cheerleading squad at Premier Athletics in Franklin, TN. This will be my 11th season coaching at this gym. Some of my other hobbies include reading, shopping and spending time with my wonderful friends.
