From Your Principal - Returning to every 2 weeks

As we have gotten more in the groove with virtual learning, there is less new information to share with you each week. So, I will be going back to only sending a newsletter every 2 weeks. If there is any critical information I will, of course, send an email.

Med Pick-Up

If you had medication in the Stott health room that was not picked up before we moved to virtual learning, Jeffco has created a protocol for getting those medicines picked up. Stott has been assigned May 7, as the day that families can come and pick-up medicine. The Google Doc below outlines the entire protocol. Please reach out if you have any questions at all.

Planning for Fall

Currently, we are working under the assumption that we will return to school in some capacity in August. As such, we are beginning to make class lists. Please know that at this point, it is impossible to know which teacher will be teaching which grade or if classes will be straight grade classes of split-grade classes. We always do our best to create balanced classes based on a variety of factors. If you would like input into a class decision for your student, please fill out the Google Form below. Note: We will not accept input for specific teachers. You may provide input about your child's learning style or classmates that they do or do not work well with. We will do our best to honor your input, but it some cases it may not be possible to honor all requests.

As far as what school will look like in the fall, we don't have any answers yet. We are planning for business are usual, but are also preparing for the fact that we may need to have alternative plans in place. As soon as we have guidance from the state or district, we will share that information directly with you.

Not Returning to Stott?

There is no actual reason to ever leave Stott! Just kidding. We do know that a few families have moved and will not be attending Stott next year. If you are certain that you will not be at Stott next year (have already been enrolled in a new school or already moved out of Stott boundaries) please send an email to and let her know that you won't be returning and which school you will be attending. We are aware of most cases, but need a finalized list so that we can prepare for these families to return any devices, library books, and materials that you may have at your home. Thank you for your support.

Teacher Appreciation

Please see the email below from Megan Ostendorf with PTSA about a fun teacher appreciation project!

Hello Stott Families

The week of May 4th through 8th is Teacher Appreciation Week! I know we all appreciate our teachers and staff more than ever this year. We want to make sure that even from home our Stott teachers and staff feel celebrated for the hard work they do all year long.

Can you help us make their week? Please have your children draw pictures, write letters, or make cards for their teachers. You can mail these special messages to Principal McCormick at the address below. We will then deliver care packages with your children’s cards to each teacher’s doorstep during Teacher Appreciation Week!

Mail to:

Caryn McCormick

Thank you Stott Families for helping us celebrate our wonderful teachers and staff!

If you have any questions please email me at or text 303-525-2909.
