PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
October 20, 2023
Dear Walnut Hills High School Families:
This week our students began their 2nd quarter of the school year. Please be aware that grades will be finalized next week and made available on PowerSchool. Already we have moved through the fall athletics schedule, as many of our sports are wrapping up their seasons or entering State Tournament competition. Next week culminates in spooky fashion with the annual Boogie Bash for our 7th and 8th grade students. We appreciate your continued support and are thrilled to witness our Eagles rising to the highest.

GE Next Engineers Academy Program
We are currently recruiting students to apply for the GE Next Engineers Academy Program! The purpose of Next Engineers is to increase the number and diversity of young people pursuing engineering career paths. Over three years, students (ages 15 to 18) learn to think and act like engineers and prepare to advance to post-secondary education. With over 80 hours per year outside of school, the Academy includes a series of immersive design challenges, career coaching, and college-readiness workshops to equip youth with the skills they need to build an engineering identity and career. Students who complete the 80 hours/year of programming AND enroll in a post-secondary engineering degree program will receive a $20,000 scholarship from the GE Foundation!
We are now accepting applications for the newest cohort of Academy students. Students apply at the beginning of their 10th grade year and will continue on with the program until the end of their 12th grade year. Students that apply and meet the admission requirements will be randomly selected and notified prior to the end of 2023.
Applications are due by November 27th, 2023!

Blair Circle Drop Off and Pick Up Traffic Info
Blair Circle Morning Traffic
Parents utilizing the Blair Circle drop-off for 7:30 AM morning arrival. Please be advised that when you enter Blair Circle, you continue to move forward around the circle until the car in front of you has stopped. Once all cars in front of you have stopped and are beginning to unload, your rider(s) can do the same. We ask that students have their belongings gathered and are ready to exit their vehicle quickly once stopped.
Please do not drop off your students at any point before the doors to the Arcade/Arts & Science building. After your student(s) have exited your vehicle proceed through Blair Circle and exit onto Blair Avenue. Do not attempt to pass cars that are in front of you. We appreciate your cooperation in making sure the flow of traffic is consistent, efficient, and safe for our families and students.
Blair Circle Afternoon Traffic
For families that are using Blair Circle to pick up your student(s) at 3:00 PM dismissal. Please be advised that you need to fully pull your vehicle into the circle area and continue moving forward around the circle until all traffic ahead of you has stopped/parked.
