Wolf Ridge Minutemen and Minutemaid News for Back to School
Dear Wolf Ridge Students and Families,
I am eager to begin another great year at Wolf Ridge Education Center
as your principal for the 2023-24 school year. This will be my sixth year
at BHCUSD8, and I am excited about the many positive changes that are
happening this year. The "Minute by Minute News" will be sent weekly to
students and families. This newsletter will include everything our Minutemen
and Minutemaids will need to know for the week ahead at Wolf Ridge.
At BHCUSD8, we are all Minutemen and Minutemaids starting this
school year. I am certain our school spirit and pride will soar now that
we are unified as one. Get your new gear online anytime by visiting the
spiritwear links on our district website or Facebook page. Go
Minutemen and Minutemaids!
Wolf Ridge will also be undergoing construction for our new junior high
addition throughout the year. This new addition will allow for 6th -8th
grade students to be at Wolf Ridge together for the 2024-25 school
year. Since we are literally under construction, we have decided that
“Under Construction: Building a Brighter Future” will be our theme this
school year. Our dedicated staff at Wolf Ridge strives to build a solid
foundation for our students. Yet, we also realize that the road to
success is always under construction. We continue to grow and learn
alongside our students each day. I look forward to seeing our returning
students and meeting new students on our first day of school on August
16th . If you would like to drop off your child’s supplies and meet the
teacher, we have an orientation for kindergarten students planned for
August 14th at 5:30 and a supply stop and drop open house for 1st -7th
grade students on August 15th from 5:30-6:30. I can’t wait to get this
new year started. Until then, I hope you enjoy the rest of your summer.
Your Principal,
Shonda Ronen

DROP OFF & PICK UP AT WOLF RIDGE
WOLF RIDGE DROP OFF:
PreK students and their siblings can be dropped off in the front circle by the cafeteria double doors. Kindergarten can drop off in the front circle on their child's first day of school only by the main entrance. Parents may walk kindergarten students into the building on the first day only. It would help if these groups do not drop off until closer to 8:00am to avoid interference with our buses. If you do drop off at the same time as the buses, please remember that you are never allowed to pass a stopped school bus.
All other students should be dropped off in the car line just off of East Alton Street anytime between 7:30-8:10. PAC students can be dropped off at this same location anytime between 6:00-8:00. We will be there to greet you each day!
If you have any questions about bussing, please contact the unit office at 618-585-3116.
WOLF RIDGE PICK UP:
If you are picking your child up from school at Wolf Ridge, you will need a car tag. Car tags will be distributed by teachers at both Kindergarten Orientation and Stop&Drop Night. If you do not get your car tag at one of our back to school events, please contact the school office at 618-585-4831. We will let you know your special number. These tags will be sent home on the first day if not picked up prior. While we have made special car tags, please feel free to write the number on a blank sheet of paper and put it in your car window so that it is visible to our dismissal crew if you forget it or don't have it on your child's first day. The numbers have changed since last year.
Students in preschool will not need a car tag as they will be picked up at the preschool double doors in front of the building by the cafeteria.
PAC students can be picked up anytime from 3:30-6:00 just inside the cafeteria. Please enter the building through the double doors in front of the cafeteria where the awning is located. Students in this program need to be signed out each day by an approved pick up person.
