Ball Park Newsletter #25
March 8 - 12
Principal's Message
Thank you to the approximate 120 families that joined me for my Elementary and Middle School Principal Community Zoom Meetings. I appreciate your interest and the level of engagement. You asked many great questions and I hope you left with a basic understanding of our reopening plans. I look forward to my next meeting with you on March 18 to provide you more detailed information.
1. Elementary Reopening - March 29, 2021, marks our upcoming ELEMENTARY campus re-opening and it is four weeks away. Know that we are hard at work ensuring that Robinson follows district guidelines that are in accordance with the California Department of Health guidelines for COVID safety. I invite you to join me for the next Principal Zoom Meeting @ 3:00pm on 3/18/21 to help answer questions you may have to help prepare for our reopening plans.
2. Middle School Reopening - April 20, 2021, is when our school will open for our MIDDLE SCHOOL students. In order to be able to make that happen, we need all Middle School parents to complete a survey to decide if they want in-person vs online instruction. This survey will be available to you through the remainder of this week. Please complete it ASAP.
3. Middle School Minimum Day Schedules- These will continue on Wednesdays and Thursdays for middle school planning, with 1:00 dismissal.
4. Support from Nursing Services- Our district's Nursing Services has prepared these health guidelines to prepare your child for returning to in-person instruction. Note that it states that students will be allowed to bring water bottles, as water fountains will be closed for COVID safety until further notice: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1CmgF4aybyYc4I-Af8jM2qIoUC0j6YBcKckqHobbacic/edit?usp=sharing.
5. CORE Culture/Climate Survey- Don't forget to respond to the email from Panorama Education in order to represent Robinson in the district feedback for all of our school sites. Thank you to all who have responded already! Deadline is March 19.
Thanks again for all of your support to have our students remain connected and engaged with us!
Sincerely,
Salvador Madrigal
Principal
Atentamente,
Salvador Madrigal

Attendance Matters: School starts at 8:00 am for K-8 students. Increasing student attendance is crucial to improving academic achievement. We strive to reach the 97% rate with your help and support. Please ensure that students are engaged in learning, are completing assignments on time, and are staying in touch with teachers.
How can parents support good attendance?
*Establish a routine for bed time and for the morning for your child
*Check on your child’s attendance regularly (ParentVue)
*Encourage your child to log in to CANVAS account, participate and engage unless he/she is truly sick
*Call the school and provide notes when your child is absent

Hello Dolphin Parents!
It’s Ms. Denise and I want to let you know that I’m back! Back for FUN and ADVENTURES from the WRAP program to help make Virtual Programming for our JROB students something for them to look forward to!
I’ve compiled a list of activities that I’m sure will have them asking for more! For example, courtesy of the California Science Museum, I will be playing the role of “The Gross Scientist! The kids will be learning things like Sticky Snot, Let It Rip (Why do farts make sounds?), Spill Your Guts (Why vomiting is important!), and Germ Busters. For these and other hands-on activities, WE will provide the kids with the supplies needed for the activity.
We will recognize some Fun Facts of the day (Chinese New Year, Random Act of Kindness Day, Make a Friend Day, and more!) For Friday’s Fun Day, we’ll do some singing and dancing to end the week on a good note!
There will also be Yoga and Stretching classes, along with instructions on how to make a healthy snack, and The Boys & Girls Club will be providing the necessary supplies/ingredients!
This program is open to all JROB students from 2:30-4:30 and is sure to fill up fast, so be sure to fill out the application by going to this link:
