Forces
By:Kelsey West
Grip
Grip is anything you can take and keep a firm hold of.
Push
Exerted force on someone or something
Pull
Exerted force on someone of something
Gravity (weight)
Is the force with which gravity attracts an object towards the earth. Therefore, we consider weight as the gravitational force.
Electrical Forces
Two positive charges will repel, as will two negative charges. A positive and a negative charge will attract. Observed in static electricity; lightning: used in copy machines. Friction is caused by electric forces.
Friction
The force between two surfaces that works against motion abbreviation.
Air Resistance
The force between air and a surface that works against motion.
Buoyant Forces Cout.
For an object to float the upward bouyant force = the downward gravitational force.
Air or water pressure
The outward force caused by contained water or air.
Normal Force
The force perpendicular to an object's surface that results in support.
Tension or Elastic Force
A force caused by a string, spring or rope resulting in stretching or pulling.
