Keep on smiling By- Alexandra Skiathitis
IF AT TIMES YOU FEEL YOU WANT TO CRY. AND LIFE SEEMS SUCH A TRIAL. ABOVE THE CLOUDS THERE'S A BRIGHT BLUE SKY SO MAKE YOUR TEARS A SMILE. AS YOU TRAVEL ON LIFE'S WAY WITH ITS MANY UPS AND DOWNS REMEMBER IT'S QUITE TRUE TO SAY ONE SMILE IS WORTH A DOZEN FROWNS. AMONG THE WORLDS EXPENSIVE THINGS A SMILE IS VERY CHEAP AND WHEN YOU GIVE A SMILE AWAY, YOU GET ONE BACK TO KEEP. HAPPINESS COMES AT TIMES TO ALL BUT SADNESS COMES UNBIDDEN AND SOMETIMES A FEW TEARS MUST FALL AMONG THE LAUGHTER HIDDEN. SO WHEN FRIENDS HAVE SADNESS ON THEIR FACE AND TROUBLES ROUND THEM PILED THE WORLD WILL SEEM A BETTER PLACE AND ALL BECAUSE YOU SMILED.
Don't quit By-Unknown
When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest, if you must, but don't you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don't give up though the pace seems slow--
You may succeed with another blow.
Often the goal is nearer than,
It seems to a faint and faltering man,
Often the struggler has given up,
When he might have captured the victor's cup,
And he learned too late when the night slipped down,
How close he was to the golden crown.
Success is failure turned inside out--
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far,
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit--
It's when things seem worst that you must not quit.

Compare
1.Second poems compared life to a queer and First poem compares life to a trial. Both used metaphor.
2. The first meaning is keep going never give up and second one is don't give up and keep going.
3. In both poems use to similes to compare it with somethings to do with the sky
4. Neither one used alliteration in the poems.
Contrast
- When I read the first I see someone going hard time if you smile it be ok but second someone fight for a spot and people tell don't quit.
- The second one has a more of rhythm then first.
- I feel like the second seems more of like quotes put together and first one somewhat a free verse poem
