Greetings Flashes Fans,
East Boys Basketball is peaking at the right time. Both the 7th and 8th grade winning streaks for the A teams continued this past week as the East Flashes defeated St. Barnabas on Tuesday 1/16 and Thursday 1/18 against Southport. The East Flashes will end the season on Monday 1/22 at FCHS as they will be the visiting team on the scoreboard against FTMS West.
Congratulations on the magnificent start for FTMS Wrestling. The team has improved to 4-0 on the season and defeated Mt. Vernon on Tuesday 1/16 in a close battle on the mat, 63-56! The grapplers hosted Chapel Hill on Thursday 1/18 and defeated the Giants 96-24.
Good luck to our FTMS Swimming team! They will begin their season on the road at Speedway High School and compete against the Sparkplugs.
The Annual Chick-fil-A Challenge will occur between Saturday, January 27 – Tuesday, January 31. All Flashes fans of East and West need to visit the Southport Road CFA and while purchasing say “East is Beast” or “West is Best” to have your vote count for your school. The school with the most sales will earn the 2018 CFA Challenge Trophy during a halftime presentation of the 7th grade Girls Basketball game played at FCHS on January 31st at 6pm. Be sure to come out to the game and support our basketball student athletes on a special evening. Doors open at 5:30pm to the public.

If so, then the East Drama Club needs you. We are having a Callout Meeting & Improv Workshop on January 30th from 3-4:30. See Mr. Kennedy or Ms. Wraley to sign up.Students need to be picked at 4:30.

High School Transition Information
At the start of the second semester, we will begin high school transition activities with our 8th grade students. Important dates are as follows:
January 22-26
Mrs. Ready and Mrs. McClarnon will be working with students to complete their 9th grade course selection sheets. Students will take their course selection sheet home to review as it requires a parent/guardian signature. This will be done during math class on the following days:

Greetings Flashes Fans,
FTMS East Boys Basketball 7 & 8 traveled to Riverside on Tuesday 1/9 and lost both contests to the HCC opponent. The Flashes returned home on Thursday 1/11 playing host to Raymond Park. Both teams played their best games to date with victories over the Rangers. The teams host St. Barnabas and Southport this coming week at home.
Swimming pictures will be at the FCHS Pool at 5:30pm on Tuesday, 1/16.
