The Manning Weekly Update
February 25, 2022
Manning Community,
As we have huge swings of temperature in Denver, I ask for your support in making sure your student(s) are dressed for the weather. The arguments are many to be prepared with the right clothing, including if we have to evacuate the school for some reason, outside recess, etc. Students need to be wearing clothes that are appropriate for the weather. We are seeing students in shorts, flip flops, and other summer clothes in the heart of winter. Please ensure that your students come to school with the proper footwear and coats.
Also, I want to thank the families that came to parent/teacher conferences last night. I heard that conferences were a success and I want you all to remember that our door is always open. Anytime you have a concern or question, please don't hesitate to email your child's teachers or give us a call and we can help problem solve. As you know, Manning's third tenet, and very important tenet, are strong family and community partnerships.
Finally, I want to thank PTA for their ongoing efforts to support Manning. A huge thanks for providing Chipotle to our staff for conferences yesterday and for putting together a really successful Skate City event earlier this month! As you will see below, our PTA is looking for a new board next year. Please consider volunteering for the three open board positions. The workload is manageable and with many hands, makes light work. We have many parents and teachers who have stepped up this year to support PTA and their efforts. If you are interested please read the information below and reach out to our PTA at manningmiddlePTA@gmail.com
Have a wonderful weekend!
Better Together,

ALERT - Important Upcoming Bridge Replacement I-70 & 32nd Ave
Attention Manning Parents and Guardians:
Please review the following information regarding the upcoming bridge replacement construction that may impact your and your student's commute to and from Manning. The project will begin mid-February 2022 and is expected to be completed in the late Fall 2023.
We recommend that Manning Parents and Guardians familiarize themselves with the project details to find an alternate route or allocate extra time if needed.
We are also asking parents to try and minimize the student walking traffic around this intersection before and after school.
The two documents are available in printed form in the main office or in pdf format in the most recent Manning Weekly Newsletter. Please refer to the digital pdf to access the links included on the documents.
Student Insights What is it? What does it provide?
There is a new tool from Jeffco, "Student Insights". This is a new website for Jeffco families and students to access district and state assessments (CMAS, MAP, ACCESS) results as well as student plan information. This will replace sending home paper copies of MAP testing or any other assessments. Please click the link below to learn how to log on and what is included in the website.
Day Without Hate - Friday, April 29th
A Day Without Hate is a student-led, grassroots organization that promotes nonviolence, respect, and unity within our schools. Help your child join his/her fellow students district wide to help end school violence and promote peace. By encouraging students to be tolerant, friendly and kind, and teaching them that there are non-violent solutions to problems, we as a community, can create a better world.
We will be passing out shirts the week of the April 25th, to students in their access classes.
Clinic Protocol for Manning Mustangs
Reminder for all Mustangs & their Parents/Guardians:
If you are not feeling well at any point during the school day, please come down to the clinic. We will contact your Parent/Guardian in the main office if needed.
🚫📱💻 Students who are not feeling well should NOT be using their phones or Chromebooks to contact their parents to be picked up during class, lunch, or recess.
👉🏼 Parents and Guardians, if you receive a message from your student, please tell them to go down to the clinic in the main office.
