Fleming Flyer 8/20/21

Hello from Principal Roy

Welcome back!

We are so excited to welcome our new 4th and 5th grade Falcons! Teachers have been working hard this week setting up their classrooms and participating in professional learning during in-service. We have an awesome team of teachers and support staff at Fleming to match the great community we are a part of. Please read below for a few updates related to the start of the year. See you soon!

Popsicle Meet and Greet Monday August 23rd @ 3:00 pm

Please join us outside from 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm on Monday August 23rd for a popsicle meet and greet. This will create an informal opportunity to meet teachers and say hello while the students enjoy a popsicle on the playground.

As was previously communicated by the district, visitors are currently not allowed in the buildings so if the weather does not look to be cooperating, this event will need to be cancelled. We will communicate a decision about this by 11:00 am on Monday.

Despite being outside, we do ask that all individuals wishing to engage in conversations with teachers wear masks at the meet and greet event. Thank you in advance for supporting us in our effort to keep our school community safe and our teachers available to our students!

First Day of School

We are so excited to welcome all of our students back on Wednesday August 25, 2021. Please remember that the first day of school is on a Wednesday which means it is an early release day and students are dismissed at 2:00 pm.

Drop-off Times

A reminder that drop-off will occur from 7:45 am - 8:00 am. The late bell rings at 8:05 am at which time students are considered tardy. Students should not be dropped off prior to 7:45 am and the playground will be closed prior to the start of the school day.

Drop-off / Pick-up Traffic

ALL traffic during drop off and pick up will go behind the building and will take place at the sidewalk facing Prospect Street. The front loop will be closed to all traffic (with the exception of busses) during drop off and pick up times unless otherwise directed.

Drop-off: 7:45 am - 8:00 am

Pick-up: 2:55 pm - 3:10 pm

Masks

Please send your child(ren) to school each day with at least two masks. Students will be able to take them off or lower them at recess and during other outside breaks and activities. We want to make sure students have clean masks to wear in the afternoon too. The school will have disposable masks available for students who need them.

Water bottles

Please send your child(ren) to school with a water bottle each day. The water fountains have been shut off due to covid, but the filling stations are accessible for filling water bottles. We do have small cups if a student forgets one, but it's better to bring their own, so they get proper hydration throughout the day.
