ISASP Practice
A new array of test-prep resources have just been released by Pearson. You can find practice tests, blueprints, released writing prompts and more. Just follow this link to the Pearson web-site.
STEM Externship Opportunities
If you are a teacher interested in making connections between the STEM working field and the content you teach in the classroom, then a STEM externship might just be for you. All the information, history and outreach resources can be found at the Iowa STEM Website. Please, take a look if you are interested! Externships are open to teachers of any grade level.
The NGSS resources just keep getting better and better. Here is a fantastic collection of phenomenon for you to get your students talking and learning through sensemaking! A great place to start is to simply ask students what they see and what they wonder about the phenomenon. Great conversations and model making can follow from there! Check it out!
Opportunity to Explore Iowa Geology through UNI
If you are interested in a highly engaging study of Iowa geology you can find more information here. This workshop has limited enrollment and comes highly recommended. University of Northern Iowa facilitates this program. Application deadline is February 14th.
Tomatosphere™ uses the excitement of space exploration to teach the skills and processes of scientific experimentation and inquiry. Students investigate the effects of the space environment on the growth of food that will inevitably support long-term human space travel. Check it out!
