Humans of Oceanside
Teaching & Learning Coaches
Hello Oceanside,
I’ve had the pleasure of already meeting and working with so many of you in my role as a special education teacher and now in this exciting new role of a TLC, I’m looking forward to the opportunity to work side by side with many more of you. My experiences with colleagues in the varied settings where I’ve worked have helped me to grow as an educator. In my 7 years of employment with Oceanside, I’ve learned that creativity, flexibility, and collaboration directly benefit students in both general education and special education settings. Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family, cuddling with my yellow lab, traveling, and cheering for the Yankees, Dolphins, and Islanders. Looking forward to the rewards this new role will bring!
From Kathleen Blake - Grades 3-4 TLC:
I feel very lucky to be working here in Oceanside, surrounded by amazing colleagues and families. I have loved working as a third and sixth grade teacher at School #5 and now I'm looking forward to starting as a TLC in September. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to work with colleagues across buildings and grade levels and I am always so impressed by the creative and dedicated teachers working in Oceanside. Outside of school, I'm usually spending time with family and friends and this summer I am looking forward to catching up on some great books at the beach. Unlike Suji, I live the difficult life of a Mets fan and I'm hoping to get to a few games at Citi Field.
I am looking forward to collaborating with old friends and new faces come September! Enjoy your summer!
From Amy Gigliobianco - Grades 5-6 TLC:
Hello Oceanside!
I have had the pleasure of being a teacher in Oceanside for the past 20 years. Working in 4th, 5th, and now 6th grade at School #8 has given me the opportunity to grow and learn beside the most dedicated and innovative educators I know. I am thrilled to be starting my new role of a TLC this fall and continuing to work with my colleagues across buildings and grade levels. I am also thrilled to be working with Kathleen and Suji, two wonderfully talented educators! Outside of school, I love spending time with my husband and two children. We love going to the beach, the park, and are excited to be going to DisneyWorld! I also love theatre and music and am looking forward to seeing some Broadway shows this summer. I am excited for September and beginning a new role as a Teaching and Learning Coach! Have a wonderful summer!
