Did you Know? Check out this Story

Earlier this year, our third grade classes took part in an art contest for Seven Falls. Two classes (Lentner & Brady) were selected as one of the winners and both classes got to paint and decorate a 4 foot tall chipmunk to go on display at Seven Falls this summer.

This project is to celebrate the 140 Anniversary of Seven Falls. Here is a link to their website if you want more information about hours and opportunities.

Here is also an article and video from Fox21 about the chipmunks. Aaron Lentner and Andrea Brady both went to this press release on Wednesday to reveal the seven chipmunks that will be on display at Seven Fall - two representing from Meridian Ranch Elementary. Way to represent!

Moving or Leaving MRES Next Year or Not Attending Falcon Middle School

Are you moving this summer? Transferring to another school? Will you be leaving MRES and not returning for the 2023-2034 school year? Will your 5th grader not attend Falcon Middle School next year? (This does not include 5th graders moving to Falcon Middle School, all 5th graders automatically roll to Falcon Middle, you do not need to register.)

If you said yes to any of these questions, then I need to hear from you! In order to make sure your child's next school receives their records, I need you to complete a withdrawal form. Please email cdonatell@d49.org and let Mrs. Donatell know.

Thank you Bulldogs!

Congratulations to Mrs. Gretchen King - Paraprofessional - on her nomination for MRES Support Start of the Year 2023

Changing Weather & Recess

As you are aware, Colorado weather conditions can change dramatically throughout the day. Recess is held outside unless the temperature (with wind chill) drops below 17 degrees. Coats, gloves, hats, scarves, long pants, layers, closed toed shoes are all highly encouraged during the late fall/winter months.

Cell Phones, Electronic Devices, and Personal items

If it is necessary to bring a cell phone to school, the phone should be turned off and in the student’s backpack, and only used before and after school, unless used for medical monitoring. Smart watches are also considered a device and should be powered off and stored in backpacks during the day, just like phones/personal devices. Students should keep all tablets at home as computers and iPADS (if needed) are available during school hours. If you need to get a message to your student during the day, please call the school office 719-494-2909.

Students should not bring toys or other personal items to school. Items will be confiscated if they cause problems or distractions and disrupt the overall educational process. These items will be held by the teacher, or sent to the main office, until picked up by a parent.

Health Information

If your student has a rescue medication (inhalers, epi-pens) they can be sent in along with their orders/action plans in a plastic bag labeled for the health room when you drop off your child's school supplies. Our Health Room staff will be available for medication drop off for students needing controlled, daily medication to be kept/given at school. A physician's note must accompany all medication students may/will need at school. That form is linked here.

Nutrition Services

Meridian Ranch Elementary School offers breakfast and hot, school lunch each day. You can view more information from D49 Nutrition Services linked here.

Lunch Prices:

  • Elementary:
    • Breakfast $2.50
    • Lunch $4.00
  • Secondary:
    • Breakfast $2.75
    • Lunch $4.35
  • Adult (without milk):
    • Breakfast $3.00
    • Lunch $ 4.75

Federal regulations play a direct role in setting the price of school meals and D49 is required to match government meal reimbursement rates by charging for meals. Updating our rates this year is a difficult, but necessary adjustment to continue providing meals in our challenging economy.

Lost & Found

To help with our Lost & Found accumulation throughout the year, we are asking that you please label your child's belongings with First and Last name. Coats, water bottles, lunch boxes, hats, gloves. This will help return belongings to the correct child and decrease the amount of lost items.

Thank you!

CMAS is Here!!

3rd grade - 5th grade Parents,

Please make sure your child gets plenty of rest and a nutritious breakfast each morning. We are excited for our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders to put all their hard work into action. They have been working hard and will ROCK CMAS testing. Our awesome families have been bringing in snacks all week to reward students after each test. If you signed up to bring in a snack, please bring it to the office first thing Monday morning.
