PBIS
Greenland prides itself on implementing Positive Behavior Intervention Supports or PBIS. This proactive approach to establishing the behavioral supports and social culture are needed for all students in a school to achieve social, emotional and academic success. On the first day of school, the student body gathered to discuss the behavior expectations for the new playground equipment, the new recycle and garbage bin on the playground, and bathroom expectations. Staff are always on the lookout for students behaving responsibly, respectfully, and safe. We will have a new goal coming shortly. Stay tuned!

PIE at Greenland
Greenland is excited to bring back PIE for all 1st - 4th grade students in Oconomowoc beginning Tuesday, October 10th. (5K students begin PIE later in the fall)
What is PIE?
- PIE is a part of our continuous efforts to meet the needs of all learners.
- PIE is short for Practice, Intervention and Enrichment. We know children learn differently and at different rates.
- As a result, we have designed PIE to increase the amount of time our learners are engaged in individualized instruction. In addition to their regularly scheduled math and reading time, PIE creates a block of time dedicated to providing all children targeted support, practice and/or enrichment in literacy or math instruction for 30 minutes, four days per week. This time will help us improve and meet the needs of a wide variety of learners’ needs.
Who will work with students?
- We are fortunate at Greenland to have a talented and skilled staff beyond our grade level classroom teachers.
- Students will now have opportunities to work with other teachers or support staff such as the literacy coach, math and literacy intervention teachers, learning resource teachers, and paraprofessionals during PIE time.
As we implement our “PIE” learning block, our focus will remain on the best interests of our Greenland students.
Should you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact Mrs. McCaffery at mccaffes@oasd.org or 262-560-8101.
We appreciate your support as we begin this learning opportunity.
