Poonam Rao
Poonam is a self-taught local artist, specializing in Indian artworks. As a child, she got interested in arts. Over the school years, especially over the summer vacations, she learnt to create various forms of Indian handcrafts, later specialized in Indian-style cold ceramics and hold a degree in Advanced Cold Ceramics.
She loves colors and is intrigued by Indian tribal paintings, their vibrant hues, origin, and significance of symbols and patterns.
Poonam is presently teaching Indian art and cooking classes at MATC, UW Wheelhouse, City Recreation Centers, and libraries. She participates in festivals occasionally to do henna tattoos and face painting. She is interested in helping with fund-raising for charitable causes.
