Message from Aledo ISD Superintendent Dr. Susan Bohn
Dear Bearcat Parents,
First, thank you for supporting your children during this unsettling time. I want to make sure that you know that, as we make decisions, your children and you, our parents and guardians, are our focus. While the Governor has ordered all schools closed for the next two weeks, please know that we take decisions related to any further closures very seriously. We consider how it impacts you, your family, and our entire community. In the future, we will continue to comply with any order from the Governor and consider the recommendations of our local health authorities as we consider further closures.
With 6,500 students, we have families who will be significantly negatively impacted by COVID-19. We will do everything we can to support you and your children. We have been overwhelmed by the pledges of support of our children and our work during this time. Please extend that same empathy, grace, and support to your neighbors. We are so fortunate to live in a very special community, where we know and support each other.
Our Bearcat staff is a very large group of people who choose to do this work because we want to serve others, especially children and their families. We will continue serving your children, you, and our community while COVID-19 impacts our operations and our lives. We will continue to have the highest expectations for how we serve.
Please follow the guidance and orders of the President, the Governor, and our local authorities related to congregating. It is so important. This is not a time for playdates or to gather children or families.
While the COVID-19 situation is impacting every single one of us, if you are particularly concerned about the welfare of your child or your family, please reach out to your child’s campus counselor. While the school district cannot take care of every situation, we want to work to make sure that you have access to the resources that can support you at this time.
Obviously, the future is unknown. However, I am confident that our Bearcat community will find the way to make it through this challenge. Please know that we will do as much as we possibly can as a district and staff to make sure that this happens.
Thank you in advance for giving us grace as we work through this together as a community.
Truly,
Susan

Dear Bearcat Families & Community,
Aledo ISD school buildings will remain closed through the end of the 2019-2020 school year, following an Executive Order announced Friday by Texas Governor Greg Abbott. We will continue to serve students through distance learning for the remainder of the school year. The final day of distance learning will be Thursday, May 28.
We understand this news brings forth many questions for our Bearcat families and students. Aledo ISD is working to provide more information very soon regarding the full impact of school being closed for the remainder of the year. We will share this information with you next week and help guide you through these unusual circumstances.
We are thinking about all of our Bearcat families, our Aledo High School Seniors, and the community during this very challenging time. We hope you are safe and well.
If you need any assistance or have questions/concerns, please email healthservices@aledoisd.org and we will respond as soon as possible.
We are grateful for our outstanding students and teachers who have worked so hard during this new way of learning. Thank you for your patience and grace during this time as we work to best serve our students, families and community.
