LaToya Cobbs

BA Early Childhood Education Administration

A little about me...

My name is LaToya Cobbs and I am from a small country town on the outskirts of Athens, Georgia. I am a mother to a very spontaneous, energetic, sweet yet sour 3-year-old boy name Jeremiah. I am a HUGE sports fan so outside of my family time: my free time consists of going to different sporting events around the city (i.e., Atlanta Hawks, Falcons, Braves and UGA games – whichever is in season), hanging out with my girlfriends having play-dates, or just being lazy at home.

The degree I am pursuing here at Ashford University is a BA in Early Childhood Education Administration. My professional goal is to be an Owner of a Childcare Center. My backup plan is to go back into the Elementary School(s) as a Pre-K Coordinator; either way, I know I want to work with small children. My academic goal is to finish here at Ashford University my Bachelor’s degree and obtain my Master’s degree in HR.

Online school is tough and balancing that along with ones' personal life can get hectic and frustrating at times. I am happy to be a part of this mentoring peer program because we can be that bridge to our fellow online classmates. Not only because we can relate but because we have been there and succeeded, encouraging others that with hard work and dedication they too can do it as well!

Looking forward to meeting you soon!
