Another school year is drawing to a close, and another year of Vanguard is in the books. It has been so rewarding to see so many of you step up and help during this new world of remote learning. Whether that has meant sharing expertise with other teachers in your PLCs, or leading professional learning experiences at the school, or even helping to lead virtual learning with the district, you have helped. You have made impacts that have reached far beyond your classrooms, for your students, your schools, and your district. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I also want to thank our hard-working school leads who have kept our members informed and accountable. Thank you to the leadership team, who have worked tirelessly to provide the best experience possible for everyone. And finally thank you to our district support who make this all possible. As you know, Heather Van Looy has been an essential support for us over the last couple years, and though she will still be around, she will be dearly missed.

This is our final regular VanWeekly of the year. Look out, though, for one last VanWeekly special edition at the end of the month. For those of you I don't get another opportunity to speak to, have a restful and relaxing summer, and take care of yourselves. We will see you next year!

Microsoft Innovative Educator (MIE) Trainer Academy Coming This Summer

Our experience with remote learning has led to the district relying on Vanguard more than ever before. This summer Instructional Technology will be offering the Microsoft Innovative Educator (MIE) Trainer Academy to help you support your school during the 2020-21 school year. This is a special opportunity for Vanguard members to take an immersive deep dive into Teams, OneDrive, OneNote, Forms, Sway, and more. This online workshop is a train the trainer model and will provide you with the skills and materials necessary for you to redeliver Microsoft training, including the Microsoft Innovative Educator Teacher Academy (MIE), to other educators.
