Community Gathering
Mrs. Klimek's class opened up our gathering with the delights of the ukulele. This was followed by a skit all about perseverance. This month we put the spotlight on our first graders and they taught us about compassion in action!
A shout out to the following classes for being recognized for their role model behavior:
- Library-Mrs. Vieira's Class
- Music-Mrs. Klimek's Class
- Art-Mrs. Jardine's Class
- PE-Miss Apici's Class
- Class Whale Done-Mr. Totten's Class
We wrapped up our time together with a sneak peak of our musical Annie and as always we enjoyed the epic dance moves of SQUIRT THE WHALE!
A Great Week at Melville

It will kick off with a schoolwide performance of juggling and balloon art. Then during their Unified Arts time our team will set up rotations:
- Circus Tricks with Mr. Soares
- Circus Music with Mr. Arruda
- Face Painting with Miss Lathan
- Photo Booth with Miss Paknis
*We will be offering a Circus Virtual Field Trip
*The day will end with Principal Laurie passing out Circus Snacks (Popcorn)!
What a fun day for our students that will certainly be memorable.

Library
In library this month, third graders have been learning and practicing Google Doc Skills. This week they learned three new skills: How to align text, copy & paste, and insert an image.
Our fourth graders listened to a read-aloud of The Poem Forest (about famous poet and wildlife conservationist W.S. Merwin) ahead of National Poetry Month in April. Students also continued to practice their keyboarding skills!

Yearbooks Ready to Order!
Yearbook Order: https://ybpay.lifetouch.com/
School ID: 12072423
If you do not pre order a yearbook, then we may not have enough available to purchase at the end of the school year when it comes out. We order a some extra, but the only guarantee is to pre order, so I highly recommend ordering one ahead of time.
If you have a child in grade 4 and need financial assistance to purchase a yearbook, then please email me directly at lauried@portsmouthschoolsri.org and we will make sure your child gets a yearbook.

Our Food Pantry is Always Open!
In keeping with the spirit of giving, our Feinstein Jr. Scholars are excited to start an in-school food pantry that our students and families can donate to and access when needed.
Please help us as we continue to support our community by sending in food items with your child from time to time. Please email
Mrs. Powell: powelld@portsmouthschoolsri.org or
Mrs. Pascoe: pascoen@portsmouthschoolsri.org
if you would like to access our food pantry during the school year.
Securly Home
Securly Home is an app that allows parents to monitor their child’s Chromebook activity at home and add rules for home use. Please take some time to review the slideshow from the informational parent meeting hosted for families.
We encourage you to sign up now for Securly Home!
