Bus Roster Verification
Bus Roster Verification
Dear Parents/Guardians,
During the week of October 7, DS Bus Lines, the district’s transportation service provider, will implement roster checks in order to verify accurate counts of riders enrolled and receiving transportation services. For any student riders not yet registered for transportation, please note that parents will be contacted by school offices to arrange alternative (parent provided) transportation.
To arrange bus transportation for your child, please contact DS Bus Lines at 913-384-1190.
Thank you!

Head Lice
Ray Marsh Parents, I wanted to send some information out as the state regulations have changed recently regarding head lice. Although they are a big nuisance, they pose no health risk or spread disease. The new recommendation is not exclude children for lice or nits. The new updated web page is below if you would like to be aware of new guidelines.
http://www.kdheks.gov/c-f/head_lice.htm
I will be happy to check someone who suspects they have lice or nits and will call a parent and advise to call pediatrician for treatment recommendations. Most likely, I won’t say anything to the student as there is nothing they can do at the time and I do not want to cause alarm or stress.
Preventative measures are the most important in keeping lice out of our lives:
1. Avoid sharing, head touching items such as hats, scarves, helmets etc.
2. Minimize head to head contact, children are more susceptible because they naturally play close to one another.
3.Separate personal belongings, ex. avoid piling coats together.
Below are some other resources from the CDC.

PTA Meeting Oct. 15th
Please mark your calendars for the Ray Marsh PTA meeting on Tuesday, October 15th at 6:30
You will have a chance to Meet the Candidates running for the Northwest Area seat on the SMSD Board Of Education:
Jaime Borgman – https://www.jamieborgmanforsmsd.com/
Devin Wilson – https://devinwilson.org/
The election is November 5th. This is a great chance to ask any questions you may have and learn more about their platforms. Our School Board determines class size, teacher salary schedules, strategic planning and so much more that impacts our kids on a daily basis.
This meeting is open to ALL members of the public to encourage voter education as we decide in November who will work for us to shape the future of the SMSD.
Meeting is held in the Library. Child care is provided for all PTA meetings.
