Harriet Tubman

Harriet Tubman was born in Dorchester County, MD. Harriet Tubman was a slave that escaped. She began to help others escape from slavery. She decided to escaped after she saw how the masters and overseers were treating her. Her Dad told her that she would get caught, but luckily she escaped without being caught. When she escaped she went to the North. Harriet Tubman went back and forth between the North and South. After a few trips, she help get over 300 slaves across to the North. Harriet Tubman died on March 10, 1913 in Auburn, NY.
