In the Trans Pecos there is less than 12 inches of rainfall. Although precipitation may get up to 20 inches higher when in higher elevation. Rain falls mostly in the summer months (July and August).

The Trans Pecos has a semi arid climate. It is very hot, dry, and humid. Down in the Trans Pecos, they are very limited on the resources of water.
