Year 6 on camp at Fairbridge

From the Principal

Dear Parents and Carers

A huge thank you to Jonelle Beveridge and Premier Studio for the wonderful photos on our

new school website. They really showcase what is happening at our school. The 'Families' tab has all the handy links for parents in one place.

Thank you to all of the parents and carers who attended the parent information meetings on Monday night. Your child’s education is a partnership between families and school staff, and the students need to know that we are working together. With so many attending the information sessions, it signals a great school home relationship.

Today I am visiting our Year 6 students who are on camp at Pinjarra. I am sure that they will have some wonderful stories to tell once they return. A big thank you to the staff and parent volunteers attending and supervising. Without this help the camp would not be possible.

To ensure your child’s wellbeing, the school requires that parents provide up-to-date medical information concerning any allergies or medical conditions. If your child is allergic to bee stings, nuts, shellfish, eggs etc and may suffer an allergic reaction, it is paramount that the school is informed.

Once again thank you to all of our students and staff for the wonderful start to the term. Thank you to Monsignor O’Loughlin for celebrating our opening school Mass for the year. At the conclusion of the Mass our student leaders were commissioned and blessed by Monsignor into their roles for 2020.

I would like to remind families that the P&F will be holding their ‘Family Picnic’ on Friday 21 February. All families are invited - we hope to see you there!

God bless.

Allen McMahon

IMPORTANT - It is paramount to inform us of allergies

If your child is allergic to bee stings, nuts, shellfish, eggs etc and may suffer an allergic reaction, it is paramount that the school is informed. Your doctor will need to provide an anaphylaxis document with instructions that the school will follow. If your child suffers from asthma, a plan is also required for staff to follow in the event of an asthma attack. Anaphylaxis documents and asthma plans are to be presented to the office with medication to ensure that in an event of a medical incident, your child can be treated effectively. Any other medical information that may be relevant must also be presented in written form to the office. This information will remain confidential within the staff-teaching environment.

School grounds open at 8.30am

A reminder to families that students should not be on the school grounds prior to 8:30am. St Columba’s provides supervision from 8:30am until the bell goes at 8:50am. On entering the school grounds during the day all visitors will need to enter via the front office.

School fees and Health Card

School fees will be sent to all families via email in the next couple of weeks. Please ensure that your email address is correct to ensure that you receive your fee statement. If you hold a current Health Care Card, please bring this to the office for photocopying and complete a current 2020 form.
