PHS Update

Current PHS Injured Reserved Report
Well, keep the following group of PHS stalwarts in your thoughts and prayers. I think some of you had heard Debi's news but here are some more details...
Richardson, Debi - She wasn't feeling very well mid-morning on Friday and finally decided to go home in the afternoon. By 11pm, she was at Petaluma Valley where Dr. Leoni performed an appendectomy! She is back home now and should be out for at least a few days provided I can encourage her to take the time off to recover. She is a trooper!
McKinnon, Dave - Phil Tacata visited Dave recently and reports the folllowing...I visited Big Dave at Kaiser yesterday; he was in emergency for 24-hours. It seems the pneumonia that he's had for the last 3 weeks was not caused by a cold/bacteria/virus and that the likely cause is some form of congenital heart-failure. He is seeing a pulmonologist this morning so they can center on a diagnosis. He had to have 40 lbs of fluid removed from his body (over 20 from his lungs and the remainder from his legs) and his blood O2 levels are very low.
Kaiser actually sent him home (I have no idea why) with an oxygen tank and said come back in the morning. He's with his sister and brother-in-law right now.
He was in very good spirits when I saw him (the fluid removal probably felt great), but it's kinda scary for him right now waiting on the diagnosis (as we all can imagine).
He has his cell phone with him and answers calls/texts. Shoot him over a word of support if you get a chance; I think he'd really appreciate it :) And let's cross our fingers for the diagnosis today.
Parreira, Joao - Last week, he was getting off a pickup at school when he felt something pop. He went to Kaiser and has nothing broken but may have some ligament damage. He is out for some period and Mario from Casa is here in his stead for the next few days.
Fabian, Stacy - Stacy is definitely on the mend. She is ramping up her PT and hopes to be back as soon as possible. Kirsten Smith has been doing a great job filling in!
Stoll, Chris - Chris has been back at school for a while now...(yay!) She is still scooting around but the foot is improving each day.
Smith, Diana - Diana is back as well after her shoulder surgery. Great to have her back in the Bilingual Office!
McHugh, Jim - Jim is dealing with some ramped up meds and may not solve all quadratics as quickly as usual. We are thinking about you, Jim!
and I'm sure I'm missing some of you too. Anyway, keep everyone in your thoughts. Hopefully, we can continue to field a team!
"You put the "A" in appendix!" - Dr. Leoni
Saturday Night Lights Shine on Trojans
Perhaps the best moment of Saturday's night SCL matchup between Petaluma and Sonoma was not the 42 first half points the Trojans put on the board. Or the stout defense that gave up just six points and limited the Dragons throughout. Or the final score of 56-6 which moved the Trojans to 5-1 on the season.
Instead, it was the postgame gathering of the two teams at the center circle to pay tribute to Carson Pforsich, the Analy wide receiver who suffered a freak back injury last week. With the help of the cheer teams, the two teams sent their best wishes and thoughts to Carson and family as he struggles to rehabilitate. It was great to see the whole group unified to support Carson. If you are interested in donating to the family, you can do so at any Exchange Bank into the "Carson Pforsich Rehab Fund."
For the Trojans, they now look ahead to an away match up at Piner before hosting Healdsburg at Casa for Homecoming on Oct 13th.
