Eighth Grade Newsletter
March 9, 2014
Dear Parents,
Spelling Bee
English
Students should have a Holocaust related book (fiction or non-fiction) that they are reading outside of class. I have asked them to be 1/4 of the way through the book by Tuesday, when we will have our first book discussion groups. We will be writing research papers on a Holocaust topic. Students can access all the information in my iTunes U course. You can access it on an iPad by clicking here: https://itunesu.itunes.apple.com/audit/COEE3X8ZK5 or finding the Charlevoix Public Schools listing in the iTunes U app.
Washington DC Trip
Our itinerary is shaping up nicely and includes visits to the Capitol Building, the Holocaust Museum, the Newseum, and the National Cathedral. Representatives from our class will lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknowns in Arlington National Cemetery. We will have a dinner cruise on the Potomac on Wednesday evening and lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe on Friday afternoon.
The last day to turn in Oleson's slips for 8th graders is Thursday, March 27!
