"Conform yourself as closely as possible to His humility and gentleness in dealing with your neighbor. . . Love those who humble and contradict you, for they are more useful to your perfection than those who flatter you."

St Margaret Mary Alcoque

From Mr. Merrick

Dear St. Jerome Families,

I hope that you are having a pleasant start to the week. I write to you from the archdiocesan principal's conference in Cape May along with Sister Lisa and so many of our colleagues from Catholic elementary schools across the archdiocese. We are participating in professional development and social activities today and tomorrow and will end with a retreat on Friday.

Next week will mark the mid-point of the first trimester. Please take time over the weekend or next week to log into OptionC and check on your child's progress (for 1st-8th graders). Please reach out to your child's teacher if you have any questions or concerns. Working together will help us ensure each one of our student's academic success. We have a day set aside for conferences on November 11th (more information to sign up will be available in the next few weeks), and report cards will be posted to OptionC on December 7th. Therefore, there is still plenty of time left in this trimester to improve or continue academic progress.

Please see below for information about Trunk or Treat; we had a blast last year with a record number of cars. Please RSVP by Friday for an evening of fun.

On Friday, our students may wear Phillies shirts in place of their uniform shirts to support our home team going into Game 3. This is completely optional and we are not asking for any donations.

Hot Lunch order forms are going home in the Wednesday Folder; a copy is also below. Orders are due back by Thursday, October 20th. Please remember to return the form, even if you are paying with Venmo.

Festival t-shirts are still on sale; the order form is below. These shirts are in stock, and orders will be filled as they are received.

Please see below for information about applying for Children's Scholarship. I encourage all of our families who meet their requirements to apply early. As of the 2023-2024 school year, no scholarship will be less than $1,200, and the scholarships will continue through 8th grade. http://www.csfphiladelphia.org/scholarship

Next Tuesday, Fr. Reilly will celebrate our October School Liturgy at 10:00 AM, on the Feast of St. Luke, for both of our schools. You all are more than welcome to attend (please remember that we have plenty of room in the side pews toward the back of the Church), and we will also live-stream the liturgy as well on our school Facebook page. Mrs. Z's 8th grade class will be assisting as altar servers, readers, and gift bearers.

Have a great week; St. Jerome and St. Lucy, pray for us!

Meet Miss Wolfe

Hello, my name is Annie Wolfe and I am so excited to start the school year! After graduating from St. Jerome’s, I attended St. Hubert Catholic High School for Girls and most recently, I graduated from Holy Family University. While completing my degree, I was a member of Habitat for Humanity which allowed me to practice my Catholic faith by giving back to those in need. Having a Catholic education has shaped me into the person and teacher I am today. St. Jerome’s is a great Catholic school with a supportive community.

Children's Scholarship Foundation of Philadelphia

Children's Scholarship Fund Philadelphia offers partial scholarships to K-8th grade students,

next year, no student will receive less than $1,200 in scholarship.

We hope that this information is helpful to you. Should you have any questions, please reach

out to CSFP directly at paperwork@csfphiladelphia.org.
