Voice
Though our class only has 12 students, their voices are strong, and we are having a great time together. We are working on songs that students can sing for the class as solos. We are also working on part singing skills and music literacy. We are in our second unit of study. We are learning to sing the minor scale this week and continuing to learn rhythms in compound meter. There will be written assessments this week as we review our music theory skills.
Drama
Students reflected on last week's performance and began viewing the musical "Oklahoma!" in class. They will respond to the show's production elements and genre contributions next week.
Students can receive extra credit for attending the Dance and String Performances next week! The Dance Performance is Tuesday, April 24 and the Strings Performance is Thursday, April 26. Both events begin at 6:00 pm and cost is $5 for admission. Like the drama performance, these shows are fundraisers for the focus classes.
