Wow! I have permission to do small, socially distant enrichment classes! Huzzah!

I'll be offering a selection of my most popular hits each week until school's out.

The first week will be my "cool stuff" robots, circuits, and programming intro. I'm offering 5 time slots, and based on the interest I see there, the top 2 time slots will settle out for the remainder of the year. This is, as always, optional.

Last year I won a grant for our school to get a robotics science kit. This was going to be a FABULOUS experience introducing coding to kids. And then covid hit, the week after I got the Sphero robot balls and kindles.

Well, they've been rotting in my office for a year and are ready to blow the dust off. Adrienne is going to pilot the project with me to work out the kinks. This 6 book mystery series has a great spooky tone. With 4 main characters, the book is a little more advanced, but remains a slim 95ish pages. I would put it at level P.

This story reminds me of the first September I was teaching kids how to search on the catalog, when I had that phalanx of 10 desktops by the printer, and there was just this one year where the digital shift rolled in, and all the kids picked up a mouse like it was a foreign object...

I was showing 3 kiddos the basket of VOX player-books, and they were really excited. I pointed out it had a spot to "plug in their headphones" and they were confused. And after a circular conversation I figured out all 3 of them have only EVER had bluetooth headphones and didn't KNOW that headphones "used to have cords." The times they keep changing...
