Once after school clubs begin, car riders are to be picked up at 4:25 from the car rider line. At this time, we will not be having late buses. Clubs will include Cats for Christ, AR Reading Club, Science Fair Club, DIY Art Club, and others. The club sponsor will be reaching out to students and parents about next steps and details.

NIS PTO Update

Thank you all who donated and participated in the PTO Fall Fundraiser! We were able to reach out goal of $10,000 and have earned lots of fun prizes like popsicles at recess, a DJ at lunch, and other fun things! We also drew names for the raffle for teacher experiences and those students will be reached out to individually.

We are so thankful for everything our parents and PTO do for NIS!

Big picture

Counselor Corner: Mrs. Diaz-Vela

October’s National Bullying Prevention Month reminds us that students, parents, teachers, and school administrators all play a role. Positive change comes as we begin to emphasize respect and inclusion at Northpointe Intermediate.

What is Bullying? In 2014, the Centers for Disease Control and Department of Education released the first federal definition of bullying. This definition helps determine whether an incident is bullying or another type of aggressive behavior or both.

Bullying Prevention Flyer - Created by Mental Health America of Greater Houston as a listing of local and web-based resources to prevent and treat bullying for all ages.

Car Rider Line Reminders

Thank you all for your patience and flexibility as we have worked through car rider line logistics! Please remember that when you exit the car rider line, you can not turn left. You must turn right onto Northpointe Blvd. If you turn left, it becomes a safety hazard and can also impede the flow of traffic exiting and entering the car rider line. We appreciate your help with this!

Reminder: Student Dress Code

A reminder to all of our Wildcat Parents and Students:

- All students must wear clothing that adequately covers the body. Shorts and/or skirts must reach the mid-thigh. Spaghetti straps, strapless, backless, see-through and low-cut tops are not allowed. Tops must cover the midriff.

- Student hair must be that of natural color. Students that need to address this particular portion can meet with their Assistant Principal to discuss a solution and timeline.

All dress code policies can be found in the TISD Student Handbook linked HERE.
