WEA Update

We're Better Together!

ACT Update

In our contract, we have a committee that collaborates and problem solves with administration. Page 28 of our contract, Article XIII, section A, specifies this committee (among others).

The Executive Board of WEA and administration met on Wednesday, September 21st at the district offices.

The agenda was co-constructed by Pat Bronco and Kelly Neylon and included the following topics:

  • Permissive Transfer of Students
  • Teacher Transfer
  • Budget
  • Process for Mold
  • List of 403b providers

A separate communication will be distributed regarding these topics and the discussion. Please be on the lookout for it!

Representative Council Meeting

The next Representative Council meeting will be Monday, October 17th. We will meet at Jefferson in the yellow think tank room off of the LRC. The agenda will be distributed to the council members prior to the meeting. We will also have Kristi Laukhuf in attendance to talk with the representative council about their responsibilities as building representatives.

If you have celebrations or concerns, please give them to your building representatives!

Contract Close Up

Take a look at the contract, page 14, Article VIII, which deals with Pupil Discipline.

Teachers are responsible for discipline in their classroom and on school grounds, with support from the BOE. Administrators are that support.

On opening day, we all heard about the changes in the law from Pat Broncato. If you have questions about any of it...ask!

We are better together and that means working on different committees!

We are still in need of some help on some committees! We need a few more members to help with Bylaws. This will require a few meetings between now and March. Please email Kelly Neylon (kneylon22@gmail.com) to help rework our bylaws!

We also need some folks to work on American Education Week. Right now, I don't know who is working on that! Please let Kelly, or your building reps know if you would like to help out!

Your building reps can show you the list of committees that you can join! Many of them are only a few meetings a year. PLEASE consider helping out on one! THANK YOU!
