McDill Elementary Parent Newsletter
Hello Timberwolf Families,
I woud first like to thank you for all the hard work and support during our E-learning days this year. Our students have been doing a very good job engaging in learning activities on these days and we know that would not possible without help from our families. Hopefully the winter storms will be behind us soon!
We’ve had some really fun activities recently which went great. Our students enjoyed Valentine’s Day parties, Student Council members participated in random acts of kindness at local businesses and our 4th-6th grades competed in Battle of the Books.
We also have more exciting activities coming up soon. Read Across America is being celebrated today, March 2nd, as well as the PTO McDill Family Ice Skating Night at K.B. Willet from 6:00-8:00 pm (See the attached flyer). We hope many of our families can join in on the fun!
Kindness Day will be celebrated on March 10th and Neurodiversity Week will be recognized March 13th-19th. Those activities will take us right up to our Spring Break week of March 20-24th. Following this break our Forward Exam testing will take begin for students in grades 3-6. And finally, we are also bringing back our Science Fair for grades 2-6 on April 27th from 5:30-7:00 pm. Please watch for more information to come home soon!
The months of the school year are going quickly! Thank you students, staff, and families for all your support and hard work. We really appreciate it!
Joe Sbertoli, Principal

📘 BATTLE of the BOOKS 📗
Timberwolves in 4th-6th grade were once again able to take part in the Battle of the Books! It was a thrilling time for all involved. The competitions were very close and it was clear that all the teams worked really hard! Eleven teams competed across the different grade levels. The winning teams are pictured below! In addition, our 5th and 6th grade teams moved on to represent McDill School at the State Level competition!
Congratulations to all the teams who worked hard to tackle their list of 20 books and a special shout out to teams who tried something new by joining this year!
