What's New At Wessagusset:

Dear Families,

Happy 1st Day of Spring! The sun is shining and the temperature is rising...let's hope we have many more days like this ahead!

Great things took place at Wessagusset this week. Michelle, our coach from Momenta Literacy, modeled some dynamic reading lessons in Grades 3-5. Students learned about different types of syllables and how to decode multisyllabic words...a critical skill for reading! Thursday was a day of learning, leprechauns, and lots of green as we celebrated St. Patrick's Day. On Friday we honored National Developmental Disability Awareness Month by wearing orange. Inclusion is one of our core values, so our 4th and 5th Graders have been including interesting facts and information about this during our morning announcements each week. We always "Choose to Include" at Wess!

Below you will find helpful information for the weeks ahead:

  • Tomorrow, Monday, March 21st is World Down Syndrome Day. Help us raise awareness and celebrate inclusion by wearing a pair of brightly colored, silly, or mismatched socks! More information can be found here: Lots of Socks

  • Lifetouch Individual and Class Pictures will take place on Thursday, March 24th. Information will be sent home this week. Our Picture Day ID for online ordering is EVT8J6DK. Here is the link to order online.

  • This month's SEPAC meeting will take place on March 22nd at 6:30pm. At 7:00pm they will be hosting the Massachusetts Advocates for Children for an anti-bullying presentation. This will be an important and informative event!
