High School Volleyball - Coach AJ Davidsen
Varsity Volleyball: We are currently in fifth place in the district fighting for a spot in the State Tournament.. We have won seven matches and lost five. The team is comprised mainly of sophomores with one junior and three freshman. We're a young team with a lot of promise!
Junior Varsity: This is the first year that North Star has had a junior varsity volleyball team that I am aware of. We are excited to see the program grow and the players improve. We have won four games and lost four games.
Eight Grade Volleyball - Coach Jade Enzler
The eighth grade A team had a great season with tremendous growth and improvement throughout. We won three matches and lost five. All were hard-fought games with many matches going to three games. We learned how to play different positions on the court, 5:1 and 6:2 rotations, serving areas and many advanced skills. More importantly, we learned how to work together as a team, support and build up each other, creating momentum on the court. These girls really worked hard and represented Northstar very well.
Nice job Lady Huskies!!!
Seventh Grade Volleyball - Coach Ana Mamani
The seventh grade volleyball team started their season learning the basics and building team cohesiveness. There is a steep learning curve for volleyball especially in the very short season these ladies had, a duration of only six weeks. These ladies accepted these challenges with open arms and embraced the game of volleyball with open arms. We began the season at home losing our first match against Vale but moved on the play and win against Ambrose, Cole Valley, Nyasia, and Marsing.
The ladies finished the year strong with a 4-5 record!
Cross Country - Coach Kelly Dillon
We are wrapping up the season with Cross Country. The High School will be continuing until Districts the following Wednesday, October 18th at Eagle Island State Park.

Meet your Coaches
Coach Adam Rankin - High School Boys' Basketball - Varsity
My name is Adam Rankin. I have three boys at North Star; Quincy, Wyatt, and Zachary Rankin. They are in kindergarten, second and fourth grades respectively. I am a native of Boise and attended Boise High School. After Boise High School I attended Foothill College, the University of Idaho, and Lewis and Clark Law School. I graduated from the University of Idaho with an undergraduate degree in accounting and Lewis and Clark with a law degree. I am currently a federal employee where I have worked in various capacities since 2005.
My previous basketball coaching experience includes coaching youth competitive club basketball teams, JV boys basketball at the Catlin Gabel School, and JV girls' basketball at North Star.
This is my first head coaching position at the varsity level. I am excited and thankful for the opportunity to be involved with such a great school and to lead the program. I am looking forward to a great first season! Go Huskies!
Coach Shad Bertsch - High School Girls' Basketball - Varsity
I am very excited to be the varsity girls' basketball coach. I have both university playing experience and high school playing/coaching experience. I was nominated All-State and All-American while at Coeur D’Alene High.
I went on to play for Boise State University and participated in the NCCA tournament in 1994. I also coached at Michael Jordan’s basketball camps in Santa Barbara, and was head boys' basketball coach at Carpinteria High, CA.
My coaching highlights include an undefeated girls team at Emmett High, JV championships at Bishop Kelly, and coaching a hand full of players that competed at the collegiate level.
I am honored to be a part of the fantastic staff at North Star, and also look forward to meeting the Husky supporters and fans this basketball season.
Coach Trevor Holladay - Eighth Grade Girls' Basketball
I have had five seasons of coaching experience of both middle school girls and boys basketball teams. It all started in Bozeman, Montana, and continues here at North Star. I pride myself on player development in fundamentals and skill preparing them for the high school level. I look forward to a good season with a lot of growth in character and ability.
Coach Elysinna Ashcraft, Seventh Grade Girls' Basketball
Hi, my name is Elysianna Ashcraft. That's Ee-lee-see-Anna, but you can call me Coach E or Coach Ashcraft. I'm from here in Idaho, a small town called Gooding, down by Twin Falls. I grew up playing sports; everything from basketball and volleyball to softball and track. I'm excited to join the coaching staff at North Star! Seventh grade is a fun year to get to test out different sports and find out what you love. I believe in hard work and doing your best, so be tell your girls to be ready!
I love North Star, we've been here for eight years and I've had all five of my kids here at some point. Thank you for the opportunity to get to know your girls and I look forward to a fun season!
