Junior Parent Meeting

Wednesday, Sep. 16th, 6:30pm

RCHS Auditorium

This event is hosted by the RCHS School Counseling Department and is designed for all families of Junior students. Our presentation will focus on preparing for life after high school and will cover important information that Juniors need to be aware of this year and what Juniors can expect for this school year and next school year.

The presentation will focus on Junior year, but all families interested in these topics are encouraged to attend.

Accessing Our Presentations Online

Your counselors have been busy! Ms. Burkhardt, Ms. Bateman, and Mr. Rapoza gave classroom presentations to each grade level, hosted Senior Parent Night, and will host Junior Parent Night on the 16th.

Did you miss our presentations, or do you want to review what we presented?

All of our presentations are available on our website. Click here to visit our new website. Our student presentations and our parent presentations are available under the "Resources" tab.

Seniors - if you did not attend our presentation, please be sure to stop by the counseling office to pick up a Senior Folder, which contains important forms that you need to submit to us!

College Scorecard

The White House just unveiled a new resource for the college search process: College Scorecard. This is a website that we highly recommend to use as you search for colleges.

Ms. Burkhardt just wrote a new blog post about the resource and all of the features it offers. Click here to read that post to learn more about how you can utilize the information in your college search!

The PSAT (Practice SAT) will be administered free to all sophomores during the school day on October 14th.

Juniors who would like to take the PSAT again may do so by bringing $15 cash or a check (made out to RCHS) to Ms. van Ravenswaay by Sept. 22nd.

PSAT practice books are available in the counseling office.

We encourage all Juniors to take advantage of this opportunity because this year's PSAT will match the NEW SAT that will be administered starting in March.

2016-2017 School Calendar Survey

We are starting a little earlier this year, but we are already in the initial development stages of the 2016-2017 school calendar. Below is a link to a survey that will allow all school staff and parents the opportunity to provide input as a resource for building the calendar. Please take a few minutes and complete the survey. We would appreciate as much participation as possible so that the School Board can take your thoughts into account when considering calendar options.
For any staff member or parent that may not have computer access, paper copies of this same survey will be made available in the main offices of each school and the central office.
