Free At-Home Screening of Angst Documentary Next Week
We know recent events have created heightened anxiety for staff, students, and families. Given this, we are going to offer a free screening of the critically-acclaimed one-hour documentary Angst for any interested member of the LVUSD community. This documentary normalizes conversations about anxiety and helps individuals make connections to their feelings along with strategies to support them. The film is accompanied by a family discussion guide. During the week of May 4th, we invite you to screen the film in your own home with your family. If interested in this opportunity, please view the trailer below and register at Community360.me/events.
Reminder: Student Meals Available
Parents may pick up the meals on behalf of their students; students are not required to be present. When a parent comes for pick up, they may take two days of meals for each student in their family. Please bring a bag or box if possible.
Virtual Family/Student Counseling Available for LVUSD Families
During this time of uncertainty and unpredictability, LVUSD wants to be available to support you and your family's mental and social-emotional health.
The Community 360 Counseling Center staff (pictured below) will be offering virtual online counseling appointments to staff, parents and students throughout our dismissal period. You may book a 20 minute appointment through the following link: Community360.me/Appointments.
Student Tutoring Support now Available for K-8 Students
Before Spring Break, LVUSD has been offering a distance tutoring/connection program for K-5 students. We are excited to expand this to middle school students beginning this week. As we go into the weeks ahead, a number of our high school students have generously volunteered their time to offer free 30-minute virtual tutoring and support appointments for our students. Know that this is for LVUSD students and families only, and we ask that you do not book more than two appointments per week at this point in time.
To schedule an appointment:
Go to: Community360.me/LVUSDTutors
Password for the page is “LVUSD” (all caps)
Click Book Now next to the subject/area you’d like virtual support.
A student tutor will reach out to you at the email you provide with a Google Meets link.
Our hope is to expand the program to middle and high school soon. We ask that an adult is in the room nearby during the tutoring process. Thank you to our amazing high school students for making this possible.
Positive Letters, Pictures, and Photos Needed
