Reader's Workshop

In reader's workshop we have worked on visualizing while we are reading. We know as readers we can picture a book in our head like a movie playing. This week and next week we are adding Post-It notes to our writing to show what we are thinking. The kids are LOVING it. So far we have worked on WOW (Something exciting), LOL (laugh out loud), and a heart for a part we love. We will continue this through next week.

Writer's Workshop

In writing we are still working on our How To books. We have met with 2 older classes to discuss our writing. the kids love being experts and teaching others.

Math Workshop

We have been working problem solving this week. This will be an ongoing activity in our room. I am so impressed by how well they are figuing out how to solve the problems by using 2 strategies!

As you may know, we have been busy redecorating our classroom. We are tryingto make it more a part of our environment and more personal to us. It makes it a much calmer and soothing place to learn.

Sooooo...for your homework this week, send in a family picture - preferably a 4x6 - that we can keep in our room the entire year.
