Summary
Hazel is in Support Group one day when a new boy catches her eye. This gorgeous boys name is Augustus. Hazel and Gus become very flirtatious and start hanging out a lot. They both share there favorite books with each other. Hazels favorite book, that she shared, is An Imperial Affliction. Gus obsesses over the sudden ending, and emails the author. Peter Van Houten reply's saying they could meet him in Amsterdam to talk about the ending of the book. Gus says he will use his "wish" on taking her to Amsterdam to discuss the book with the author. they go to Amsterdam but only to find out peter is a rude old drunk. However they went back to the hotel room where something ever more shocking happened. Augustus's cancer is back. Throughout all of his troubles hazel is by his side for all of it. Augustus dies and at the funeral Peter Van Houten shows up. Hazel learns that Gus wrote her eulogy that he sent to Peter. It says he hopes she's happy with the choices she made.
