2021-2022 Successes & Celebrations
We Listened to YOU!
- Reworked the JCISD Learning Services website pages including a "click now for PD" hot button, started the JCISDLearningServices@jcisd.org universal email, and started #JCISDLearningServices to begin increasing our visibility, branding, and communication. Next year, we are also starting back up a monthly newsletter and other communication tools.
- Revised and improved the process for sessions, presenters, and logistics of countywide PD "Day of Discovery"
- Re-examined the ways we can offer SCECHs so now you can earn hours by watching approved recordings and completing the appropriate documentation of learning!
- Analyzed the requests for certain professional learning, coaching, networking, and other services by our Learning Services team and built out the initial 2022-2023 calendar for support with that data in mind.
Know the Data...
- Did you know we gave away over 18,000 books this year through our JacksonREADS events in October, January & May? These intentionally selected books were high-quality books specially selected for children from birth through 5th grade.
- Did you know the Whole Child team launched a wellness library for educators and school leaders? They also supported the county in using the HSAT, MiPHY, and TFI to drive improvements and support students and educators where they are.
- Did you know we brought in high-quality, nationally known professional development presenters to support educators and administrators across different areas of education such as Penny Kittle and Kelly Gallagher for secondary literacy; Dr. Jay Marks for Inclusive Leadership; Dr. Rebecca Hasson for healthy activity enhancing learning; and Dr. Lisa Voelker for strong STEM instruction. Our formal professional development trainings serviced over 2100 educators and leaders this past year.
