FINAL THOUGHTS FROM TURPIN

WOW.....Holy Cow..... The time has come for my FINAL Falcon Flyer for this year! While typing this out there are so many emotions, feelings and thank yous running through my head! I can not believe my first official year of being principal to this wonderful school and community is coming to a close! This year has been wonderful and amazing, with a lot of twists, turns and most importantly PIVOTS.

I want to share my sincerest thank you from the bottom of my heart to the following:

-Thank you to the amazing students that we have here at Riverview. From all of the smiles, hugs, outfit compliments, pictures, birthday treats and much more.....these kiddos are what make my job worth doing and are continual bright spots in my day!

-Thank you to the wonderful and ever faithful Riverview staff. These fine educators and employees of USD 232 are second to none.... and I am beyond blessed to be their leader! Watching them do what they do best and how much effort, love and energy they pour into the students daily makes my heart so full and happy.

-Thank you to the warm and welcoming Riverview community. Any time when you step into a new role with big shoes to fill, that can be overwhelming and scary at times.....but this community has made me feel nothing but welcomed, supported and loved. Thank you for partnering with me to do what is best not only for our Riverview community but our students as well!

Here is to having a wonderful, relaxing summer and I will see ALL of your wonderful faces in August....to what I can only predict will be another fun filled year of learning and growing!

ENJOY SUMMER!

Lee Harper Comes to Riverview

Last week, Riverview had the privilege of hosting the amazing and talented illustrator Lee Harper. Mr. Harper was able to come into Riverview all day and present at three different assemblies for all grade levels.

Students were able to learn more about Mr. Harper, his illustrator journey and some free personal group drawing lessons.

A huge THANK YOU to our PTA for funding and supporting this opportunity for our students. Along with our PTA a huge THANK YOU to Ms. Pursell for bringing this opportunity to Riverview and helping host Mr. Harper.

Turpin NEEDS your help!

Even though we are beginning to wrap up this year.... It is time for me to start looking forward to the beginning of next year and the start of school. Long before the actual first day of school, teachers come back to the building in full force to prep and prepare for that first day! In some of those coming days, I will be working with staff doing some professional development and team building. I would love for one of my activities to be a staff slide show with YOUR kiddos doing a short 30 second or 1 minute video, thanking the staff or saying what they love about Riverview.

Please email me your videos to mturpin@usd232.org

Thank you in advance for helping me with my project!

Running down the hill

If you would like your child to participate in our annual Riverview tradition of running down the hill on the last day of school, we ask that you email your child’s teacher and let them know that your child needs to be a walker on Tuesday. This is especially important if your child is normally a car rider because unless we are notified, they will continue to go home in the same manner as usual.

Check those lunch accounts.....

It is that time of year again, where we are wrapping up the year....which means it is time to double check your students lunch balance and settle up with any negative balances. If you do decide to leave a positive balance, that will be carried over to the next year!

Thanks in advance for you doing your part!
