FFA Members Earn Scholarships
Two Battle Lake FFA members placed in the top three individually at the Agricultural and Natural Resources Activities Day at the University of Minnesota Crookston on December 6th.
Elizabeth Radermacher placed second out of 38 contestants in the Soils Evaluation Career Development Event (CDE) and Kate Christensen place second out of 33 contestants in the Farm Management CDE. Both girls were awarded plaques and $600 scholarships to the University of Minnesota Crookston. The Battle Lake Soils team consisting Elizabeth, Kyliegh Shebeck, Kyler Leabo and TJ Underhill also place first out of 10 teams.
Over 950 students from Minnesota, North and South Dakota participated in this year's ANR Activities Day.
Winter Band Concert
The Winter Band concert was held on December 9, 2019 and consisted of grades 5-12 showcasing their wonderful talent.
Winter Choir Concert
The Winter Choir concert took place on December 16, 2019. Grades 7-12 beautifully sang us into the holiday season!
Elementary Holiday Concert
The Elementary Holiday Concert took place on December 17, 2019. Grades K-3 performed a variety of classics putting all of us in the holiday spirit.
The Spelling Bee took place on December 18, 2019. Select students from grades 5-8 competed.

1st Grade Decorates Gingerbread Houses
Mrs. Roisum - Social Studies
Jenny Roisum is in her 16th year teaching at Battle Lake High School. She graduated from Underwood High School in 1999 and then attended North Dakota State University, graduating in 2004 with a Bachelors degree in History and Social Science Education. She received her Masters degree in 2007 from Southwest Minnesota State University. Jenny is back in graduate school to get certified to teach college courses in the classroom. This is also her 16th year coaching volleyball at Battle Lake.
