Ice Hockey team doing their part in giving back
The Central Regional Ice Hockey Team had their annual visit to assist those in need.The team took time out of their busy day to visit a women' shelter and delivered presents for 65 kids. This is one of the annual events that this program gives back. They will be hosting their Christmas skate for special needs children on December 31st from 12:15 pm to 1:45 pm. Stop by and grab a cup of hot chocolate. Thank you Head Coach Joe Pellicio, Coach Jeff Mangold, and all players and parents.
Central Ice Hockey starts off season 2-2
The Central Regional Ice Hockey Team has started the season off with a 2-2 record in the young season. In the two wins they defeated Toms River North in the home opener 8-5 and Morris Catholic 9-1. In the game against Toms River North Sophomore Forward Josh Rich led the Frozen Eagles with 3 goals on the night while Sophomore Defenseman Noel Acevedo, Senior Forward Chris Straccia added two goals each and Sophomore Forward Allan O'Connor had one. Between the pipes Senior Captain Rylan O'Brien had 47 saves. Against Morris Catholic at Mennnen Arena 9-1. Sophomores Noel Acevedo and Kyle Maguire both record hat tricks. Freshman Tucker Powderly scored two goals and Junior Even Sult added another. Senior Goalie Rylan O'Brien had 28 saves and was named player of the game by the Morristown Sports Network.

Boys Basketball off to a 2-1 start.
After an opening night loss to Marlboro the boys basketball team has recorded two huge wins this week. They defeated two quality opponents in Lawrence and Southern Regional. In the win road win against Lawrence Senior Miles Chevalier scored 23 points and Juniors Jaycen Santucci and Jayson King each chipped in 14 points apiece as well. The Golden Eagles then went on the road and defeated Southern Regional in an epic 4 Overtime game. See below attached article of the game from Shore Sports Network.

Boys Winter Track and Field has hot start to the season
In the start of the winter track season the boys track team opened up their season with some big performances. Fran Adamo placed 2nd in pole vault with a new personal best of 10 feet 6 inches. Nnaemeka Amaechina placed 3rd out of 53 in the 55 meter dash with a new personal best of 7.2 seconds. Jack Davis placed 2nd in high jump and led a 2nd place sprint medley relay team with Nnaemeka Amaechina, Joel Ramos, and Jordan Benzon. Talvon Griffin placed 3rd out of 46 with a new personal best throw of 38 feet 10 inches. It was a great team effort to start the season. In their second meet of the year at the Shore Track Coaches Season Opener in Staten Island Nnaemeka Amaechina led the way with two gold medals in the triple jump and long jump. His triple jump of 43 feet and 2.5 inches is a new indoor school record and the #2 jump in the state of New Jersey this season. Danny Troncoso also jumped well in the triple jump with a mark of 38-1. Connor Mielewski placed 4th in the 400 with a time of 51.6. Jack Davis was 10th overall with a 53.1. Javi Sanchez and James Gentilcore started the season with a pair of sub 5 miles, running 4:53 and 4:54. Jordan Benzon ran a personal best in the 800 of 2:06. Great work!

Girls Winter Track team starts season off at the Ice Breaker Invitational
The girls track team opened the season with a great showing at the ice breaker invitational. Sam Boyle scoring in 4 events. 3rd in the 4x200, 2nd in the 55, 1st in the 55 hurdles, and 3rd in the high Jump. Leah Bollettino and Jordan Buccos Joined Sam on the 4x200 and came back with team mates Ciara Lohman and Jillian Sammond for 2nd place in the Sprint medley. Ava Rodriguez was the 4th member of the 4x2 and finished 5th in the 55. great job ladies.
Wrestling team starts season off 2-2 after going 2-1 in opening weekend quad.
The Central Regional wrestling team battled to a 2-2 record after losses to Brick Memorial and Manchester in the first week. The wrestling team found success In the last two matches of their Saturday quad they defeated Trenton (54-27) and Neptune (54-24).
Girls Wrestling starts off season with a quality showing
The newly formed girls wrestling team had a quality opening weekend showing at the Queen of the East Tournament at Jackson Liberty. Brooke Twohig, Aubrie Moultrie, and Liliana Alicia won two of their 4 matches on the day. The girls have the biggest team of the three years of their existence and look to keep building on the early success of the program.
Boys Bowling keeps battling in tough A South
Though the bowling team is winless this season they are improving ever game and have had some highlights in defeat. In a tough loss to Southern Regional AJ Piszel led the boys Varsity bowling team . ended the day with a 238 in his last game. In a tough bowling match against Brick Memorial Santino Barresi had 2 high games of a 202 and a 236. Also contributing was Santino Gisondi who bowled a 201 on the day in one of the matches. In a close match against Brick Twp, Senior Santino Barresi lead the Eagles with a 617 series, bowling a 224, 183 and a 210. AJ Piszel had a great day with a 213 and 177. Chrystian Kozak bowled his high game of 223 and Josh Sommers bowled a 200 and a 217. In a loss to Toms River East, Sophomore Ben Sermarini had his best series yet when he bowled his way to a 577 series bowling a 195, 182 and a 200 on Friday. Santino Barresi had a 200, and Josh Sommers a 214.
Despite a 3-3 record Girls Bowling is ranked 9th in Group 4
Central Regional bowls at one of the tough houses in the state in which in which 7 of the 14 teams are currently ranked in the top 20 of the state. In a loss to Brick Township girls bowling Captain Riley Sternik bowled a personal best series of 631 . Riley racked up scores of 192, 226, and 213 in the loss. In a victory over Toms River East freshman Rachael Crick on the match high game of 180 and in a victory over Toms River North the girls collectively achieved a total pin fall of 2,113 as well as a high game of 811! Shout out to freshman Rachael Crick on her personal best and season high game of 203! Other high games included seniors Brianna Gunnigle with a 179, and senior captain Riley Sternik with 160.
Boys and Girls Swim both off to 2-0 starts on the season
Leading the Girls Swimming Team on their 102-68 win over Toms River East were event winners Senior Samantha Denlea, Sophomores Ella Westhoven, Amelia Wenzel and Danica Barron and Freshman Grace Ostapovich, Graceanna Rizzo, and Emma Boturla. On the Boys’ Swimming side the event winners were Joseph Busic, Aidan Wenzel, Matt Ricciardi & Kaden Stout. Other top performances by Constantine Condos, Dylan Olmeda, Tom Rotella & Kam Schlueter.
In the girls swimming team victory over Toms River North. Strong performances were turned in by Julianna Stolz, Ellie Ytreboe, Giana DeMasi, Carly O’Brien and Grace Ostapovich. In the boys swimming team win over TR North, the team was lead by the Joseph Busic, Constantine Condos, Logan Mastronicola, Ethan VanSplinter, Luke Ardise, Barrett Hnatt and Chase Corbett.
Girls Basketball looks to keep improving during the season.
The Central Regional Girls Basketball team has yet found its stride but they continue to battle. In the second game of the season Central hosted Southern Regional. In that game Ava Schmidhauser lead all Central Regional players with 7 points. In their game the following night against a tough Neptune team senior Makenna Leszczynski lead the team with 10 points. Also contributing on the offensive end were Ava Schmidhauser, Beth Doderer, and Emmar Christensen with 6 points each.

2023 Physical Education Square Dancing Competition
A tradition that dates back to the early 1970's. Fun fact the tracks were recorded by singer Joe Fioretti at Central Regional live at the 1st square dancing PE competition. Thank you to PE staff and all the students that participated in this annual tradition and congratulations to the winners
