CORONADO HOMECOMING PARADE

  • It was so much fun seeing so many families at the parade on Saturday. Howbert was well represented and the parade goers really saw the strength of our community!

PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES

  • On Monday, September 27th, teachers will be sending out a link to a Microsoft Bookings page in which you will be able to schedule a conference or conferences. You will also get an email from me with links to each teacher's Bookings page.
  • Teachers will be offering conference times during the evenings of October 25th, 26th, 27th, and 28th as well as during the day on the 28th.

ATTENDANCE DURING QUARANTINE OR WHILE AWAITING TEST RESULTS

  • While your child is quarantined or awaiting test results, if he/she is too ill to complete school assignments or check-in (phone or Webex) with the teacher, please call in an absence to the front office.
  • If your child is able to complete the assignments and check-in with the teacher each day, he/she will be marked present. If your child does not complete assignments and does not check-in with the teacher, he/she will be marked absent.

WALK-a-thon ~ October 1st

Our annual WALK-A-THON is Friday, October 1st.

The Walk-A-Thon is the only fundraiser we do each year & 100% of the money comes to Howbert! During this event the students walk/run around our campus while being cheered on by Howbert staff, mascots from surrounding schools, first responders and more! They have a blast! While your student is fundraising please note that their sponsors are not paying by the lap, they are just contributing a flat rate.

Fundraising envelopes are due back on 10/1.

This year we are raising money to support our OUTDOOR LEARNING goals with more outdoor seating and tables for students!

In the past we have used Walk-A-Thon funds to:

  • Fund the shade-structure on the playground
  • Purchase picnic tables for student use
  • Help with family nights at Howbert like Art Focus Night and Game Night
  • Buy snacks for students in need
  • Buy laptops, iPads, software and other technology for students
  • Fund field trips and presenters for students
  • Purchase art, music and PE equipment
  • Host Staff and Community Luncheons

As you can see, the money we raise is well used! We appreciate your support of Howbert and our students. We really have the BEST community!

Howbert PTO

PTO MEETINGS

The Howbert PTO meets the 2nd Thursday of every month at 4pm. We will be meeting in-person but will also have a virtual option for those that would prefer to attend on WebEx. Our next meeting is on Thursday, October 14th at 4pm.

We would love to see you at the meetings! It is a great way to share your thoughts, hear about happenings in the school and support the Howbert staff and students. And you don't have to commit to anything! Come to as many or as few meetings as works for you and your schedule.

We're a Box Tops School! This year, we want to earn $500 to go towards outdoor education. We have already earned $41 towards our goal!

HERE’S HOW IT WORKS: Buy participating products and use the Box Tops mobile app to scan your store receipt. The app identifies eligible products and automatically adds Box Tops to your designated school's earnings online. Even if you’re shopping online or doing grocery pickup, you can still submit your digital or email receipt and earn Box Tops. Twice a year, our school gets a check!

Your earnings really do add up. The more people that participate, the bigger the impact we can make. So let's give our teachers the support they need and give more kids the opportunity to dream. Little by little, we can help make a big difference.
