We made it through the first week! It has been quite a positive start to the school year! I was sure to include lots of pictures in the SMORE!

Information about School Meals
Please find below information regarding student meals for the 2022-2023 school year.
Starting in the 2022-2023 school year, students will have to pay for breakfast and lunch. It will not be provided free of cost or at a reduced rate unless a student qualifies. A link to complete the online application for free or reduced meals can be found below.
A link to the Food and Nutrition Services website is below. It has information regarding school meals, including a link to school meal menus.
Boosterthon Fun Run
The day is here! You can now register for our Oakville Community Fun Run! Our goal is to raise $10,000 for furnishing the Otter Community Room. Registering is easy and free!

Acceptable Use Policy: Families must complete the Acceptable Use Policy for SY 22-23. The links are below. Students MUST have the form on file to use Google Apps for Education and for Schoology.

SMORE COMMUNICATION
All SMORE communication will be sent on Friday afternoons. SMORE communications will be housed on the school website and in the resources section of the Oakville Elementary School Schoology page.
New to SMCPS Schoology parent/guardian accounts will be created in the coming weeks. We hope to have accounts created and parents/guardians connected to their students in Schoology by Friday, September 2nd. Parents that have difficulty accessing their pre-existing accounts should contact schoology@smcps.org and include the student name and ID number for troubleshooting.

Hello OES Otter Family,
I am Hannah Pratz, and I am so excited to join your family! I have been a school nurse for 23 years and have loved every minute! I love what I do and my door is always open! Don't hesitate to pop in the health suite or cut through!

When should I keep my child home from school?
- Fever >100.0, vomiting, diarrhea, or pink and crusty eyes
- Symptoms of COVID-19 like illness OR symptoms or an illness that do not resolve after home interventions
- Your child has been directed to quarantine by the local health department
What are COVID-19 like illness symptoms?
- New-onset of cough, shortness of breath, or difficulty breathing
- New loss of taste or smell,
- Fever of 100.0 or higher
- Chills or shaking chills
- Muscle aches
- Sore throat
- Headache
- Nausea or vomiting
- Diarrhea
- Fatigue
- Congestion or runny nose

- Spirit Nights at local businesses - More information will be shared as they are scheduled.
- Bring or send in Coke product bottle caps and Box Tops
- Help out our Otter Community by starting the year with coffee/ tea (and other k-cups) for staff as well as any extra school supplies for a student in need by dropping off the items on August 22nd at Open House
Be on the lookout for opportunities to sign up to join the PTA at Open House and our first Spirit Night of the year at Sweet Frog!
